Honesty

Satya (Honesty): Be truthful, with others and with yourself.

Tell the truth, and be honest to yourself (Satya) Satya: Truthfulness in our speech and living in alignment with our values.

Satya (Truthfulness): Being honest in our words and actions.

truthfulness – this means to your Self. So it means not breaking word to Self.

truthfulness – Satya: This emphasizes the importance of being truthful in one’s thoughts, words, and deeds.

  • Want to be careful of what “promise” to others, not even promise but saying “I can do that for you.” Rather say “I think or maybe I can do that for you.”
  • b/c my actions are dependant on what happens, I don’t want to tie my Self to some conditions. Idea of conditional (I am interested in the economic behaviour measurements, economics as the studying of behaviour) . . . everything is conditional then someone says you said you would. .. . and then I spend my time concerned about and they are in my head. And “don’t let people rent time in your head.”
  • That is a big one “letting people rent time in your head.” It this idea of taking care of you, ie your time ie valuing my time, ie I am not going to make my Self available to you whenever the other person wants b/c then I am not focused on what I am doing. I can’t and won’t drop what I am doing “to help the other person.” Sure if it is a special person but for someone . . . for regularly being available I am not willing to do that, any more.
  • People have sad stories understand that. One thing to do with that is not to ask them about the pain. This has to do with not focusing on negative. For someone I don’t know if they say they are having a a hard time say I hope it gets better and that in the end something valuable comes from the event. It is this idea of I don’t have time for people who are down. Now that may sound . . .and that is different from what I thought or felt in the past & I thought to help people. I can’t help people, .. .I have to take care of my Self I can help good do better. It is important I take care of my Self.
